Does excessive fat kill?

Major health problem is obesity in America. Excess weight not only contributes to almost every health risk, it can actually multiply the risk factors.

You don't have to be 300 pounds overweight for fat to be harmful. Being "pleasingly plump" or even leaner can be enough to increase your risks of various ailments, such as cancers, diabetes, heart disease, memory loss, menopause, osteoporosis, PMS, stroke.

Just substituting margarine for butter is not enough, especially if the spread is made with hydrogenated oils or "trans fatty acids". Foods to avoid that are high in trans fatty acid are bacon, pork, potato chips, anything deep fried, McDonalds, Burger King, or any fast food chain. These places, or foods are what causes belly fat.
These fats put a strain on your heart if you don't exercise on a regular basis. Why? because these fats just sit on your body and inhibits your metabolism from moving and keeps the heart from pumping your blood thru your body.

Good fats, the "essential fatty acids" that the body can not make, can be found in fish, nuts, soy and other foods.
For most fats, if you have none in your diet, your body will make what it needs.

So does excessive fat kill? Well it depends on how much you consume from good fats or bad fats. Read the labels before you purchase any item. The more bad fats you consume puts your heart at risk. Control is the key to staying healthy. Atheletes can have a heart attack if they consume too many trans fats. Stay healthy with proper eating habits and exercise.
